Poison Flower
Poison Flower, Blue Flower (detail unlit)
Soda fired stoneware and translucent porcelain
approx. 17" wide
2015

The Poison Flowers are hybrids of original sculpted forms, and slip-cast and press-molded objects and textures from nature, which I have combined to suggest a ‘new’ organism. I also think of them as decorative arrangements, very similar to a floral arrangement. Flowers are often used to celebrate important moments of our lives, everything from love to death.

This flower was created using molds from: water moccasin, leaves, fruit, and jewelry beads
